Well done to the U13A players & their coaches, Peter Coleman & Eoin Bonfield on securing the LDSL Div 1 league & cup double this morning in U.L. following their 5-0 cup final victory over a very good Janesboro side who made the lads work very hard their win. This group are a super bunch of down to earth lads, who work very hard hard for one another and just want to play football. They have fun every time they step on the pitch at training or at game time, whether they win, lose or draw. They are an absolute credit to themselves, their coaches and families and everyone in the club couldn’t be any prouder of the way they play and how well they represent the club at all times. Enjoy the celebrations lads and you can now look forward to the even greater challenge of premier football next season.

Report by Peter Coleman
Well done to our U13A side who wrapped up their league-winning campaign with a comfortable victory over a gallant Lisnagry FC side this evening in Derryleigh Park in front of a large Newport crowd.
The lads dominated the league by winning 13 out of their 14 games and proved to be very worthy champions. Jerry Flynn of the LDSL presented the trophy to co-captains, Aaron Coleman & Shaun Bonfield. This group of players are the most-unassuming and hard-working bunch of young men and are a great credit to their parents, coaches and our club. They go about their job week in, week out without any fuss or drama and on a very even keel. Peter Coleman & Eoin Bonfield have done a brilliant job with the lads and have made very steady progress over the past 3 years. Cup finalists 2 years ago, cup winners last year and league winners this year with the reward of premier league football next season. They are still in the running for the cup with the final against Janesboro in U.L. on May 20. Thanks to everyone who turned up to watch the game and stayed around for the post-match celebrations. We hope you enjoyed yourselves.

On a lovely spring evening Newport travelled to Regional to play their last away league game of the year .
This game did not set the world alight as it was very stop start from the kick off. Newport trying players in new positions took awhile to adapt and missed some early chances and only really woke up after Regional rattled the cross bar.
