Scorers: Shaun Bonfield & Lee Ryan
The lads continued were they left off on Saturday with a good performance with goals from Shaun Bonfield & Lee Ryan. Shaun’s effort was a cracker from 25 yards to the roof of the net.
This was a great effort from the team’s first year playing premier soccer. Enjoy the summer and we will see ye in the new season.
From Peter, Eoin & Colin.

Although beaten 2-0 this was a very good performance and the lads were unlucky, creating numerous chances and were unlucky to be beaten. The lads played with a lot of heart and gave as good as they got and just conceded two very soft goals.

A disappointing result but giving the awful weather on the evening they lads struggled with the conditions and were beaten by physically stronger team on the evening.

Scorer: Lee Ryan
Newport U14A welcomed Aisling for the return League game in the Limerick Premier league. This was a much-anticipated game after the teams had played out a cracking 2-2 draw in the first league game of the season in Annacotty. You could not have had a better game after the defeat to Fairview on Good Friday.
Again, Newport started slowly and were down 1-0 early in the first half. Now under pressure they defended very well with a couple of moments of concern but the lads worked hard and showed great commitment & desire to keep the score-line to 1-0.
Early in the second half, Newport were awarded a free and with a great effort from Diarmuid O’Riordan which was saved by the Aisling keeper, Lee Ryan was on hand to score the rebound.
Newport were now playing well and creating more chances but were unable to take them.
Aisling also pressed hard in the second half but Newport defended resolutely and the match ended all square. Well done to all concerned for a great team performance.

Scorer: Shaun Bonfield
Newport travelled to play Fairview on Good Friday evening last in what was only their second league game since December.
This game turned out to be a learning curve for both players and management as faced with a physically stronger team they acquitted themselves well.
Although losing the game 4-1 the boys worked hard and stayed in the game when other teams would have dropped their heads. This bodes well for their future development as they did not give up.
2-0 down early in the first half they battled back to 2-1 courtesy of a Shaun Bonfield goal only to concede 2 late goals.
A special mention must go to Craig O’Connell who stepped into goals at short notice and acquitted himself well in the game.
