U17, Div 2, Newport Town AFC 1-2 Charleville

Sunday, December 10 2017 (Derryleigh Park)

Scorer: Colin Coleman

The U17’s welcomed runaway league leaders, Charleville, to Derryleigh Park and despite an excellent performance and having taken the lead through a superb individual goal from Colin Coleman in the first half, it was the Cork side who somehow managed to leave Newport with all three points after winning the game on a 2-1 scoreline. The lads were very disappointed after the game as all in attendance agreed that they did not deserve to lose. This is a relatively new side, who train hard and play some lovely football and with a little more rub of the green they will definitely get the results they deserve.

The management and players would like to wish a speedy recovery to Robert Duggan who was injured in training last week and will be out of action for a few months.

Match Squad: Josh White, Brendan McMahon, Killian O’Malley, Joey Kelly, Jack Noble, Ciaran Flynn, Sean Freeney, Jack Foley, Devon Ryan, Thomas Floyd, Colin Coleman, Karl Kelly, John Ryan Rose & Thomas O’Toole.
