Calling on all our supporters
With the Covid restrictions in place, all leagues are suspended and matches cancelled but thankfully training can continue for our underage players. These are strange and challenging times for everyone but for now our young players can continue outdoor training, keeping fit and healthy. We remind everyone of the importance of following all the health guidelines before, during and after training. You can keep up to date on all things NTAFC on our website, our Club App and all our social media channels incl. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Snapchat. In the meantime, here’s a few things you can do to support your community soccer club.

1. Complete & pay your club membership for the 2020/2021 season online.
2. Enter our major club fundraiser, €20 for 2020. Just €20 will give you membership of our Euro Millions Syndicate for 12 months and entered in the club lotto for 8 weeks.
3. Enter the club lotto online and be sure your lucky numbers are entered in every weekly draw. Just €5 for 3 sets of numbers.
4. Get sorted for Xmas by ordering NTAFC O’Neills Club gear online for your loved ones. Great value & great quality gear delivered directly to your home.
5. Download the Club App on your phone and select Newport Town AFC.
6. You can now publicize your business on advertising signs in Derryleigh Park to the players, supporters & families that visit our home every week. Please e-mail secretary@newporttownafc.com or call 087 6504779 for details.

Grassroots sport is at the heart of our community and your continued support is vital to our club. Your continued support is never taken for granted and is greatly appreciated. Please take care and remain safe during these strange times. Thank you.

What should have been!
Last Saturday, we had been due to hold our 50th Anniversary Dinner Dance. Unfortunately, like many other events planned in 2020 to celebrate our 50 years in football, Covid-19 put paid to that. We will hold the Dinner Dance when it was once again safe to do so. We will all come together and celebrate coming out the other side of this awful situation and will look back on 50 years and look forward to creating many more great memories in the years to come. Who knows what the immediate future holds for us all but in the meantime, we will continue to put our best football boot forward and keep the show on the road as best we can. Your support, in terms of fundraising, is now more important to our club, than ever before. Please take care, remain safe and look for the positives wherever you can.

Virtual Aviva Soccer Sisters during the mid-term break
The FAI and Aviva have launched a new virtual Aviva Soccer Sisters programme specially designed for girls to take part in during the upcoming October mid-term break. The online skills series will be rolled out daily at 10am through the week of 26th October via Aviva’s website.

Created by accredited FAI coaches, a new skills video will be released each day demonstrated by the members of the Ireland Women's National Team and some Aviva Soccer Sisters. The video series caters to young girls of all ages and skill levels and is the ideal way for parents to keep their budding soccer darlings entertained and inspired over the Halloween break.

The virtual Soccer Sister programme is a safe online space for young girls to develop their social skills and love for the game over their mid-term break. See aviva.ie/soccersisters or Aviva’s Social Media channels @AvivaIreland each day at 10am to access the videos.

Shauna Pearson
Best of luck to one of our own former Soccer Sisters, Shauna Pearson, who’s now making a name for herself in the League of Ireland with Treaty Utd. Shauna is one of three players from Limerick's Treaty United who have been called up to the FAI Women's U16's International Assessment Day.

Lotto
There was no winner of this week’s club’s lotto and the jackpot is now €1,950 with the next draw taking place on Saturday, October 24 in the clubhouse. The numbers drawn were 4, 6, 21, 28. €20 lucky dip winners including one online winner. Christy O'Connor, Black Road, Cecil Ryan, Birdhill & Rachel Lenihan, Inchadrinagh (Online). Tickets can be purchased from any committee member at our lotto stand at Ryan’s Centra on Friday evenings & Sunday mornings. They can also be bought online via the club website. Thanks, as always, to everyone who supports the club’s main fund raiser.

Help us keep Derryleigh Park clean
With every player now bringing their own water bottles to training, we ask that you please bring your plastic bottles home with you or else put them in the bins in Derryleigh Park. Parents, please pass this message on to your kids. Thanks for your co-operation.

Online Membership Registration
Players membership can now be registered and paid online via the club website or the Club App. All players must be registered and membership paid as soon as possible.

€20 for 2020 Euro Millions Syndicate Fundraiser
Due to Covid-19, the start date for the first Euro Millions draw of our €20 for 2020 fundraiser has been pushed back to allow people more time to purchase a ticket and become part of our syndicate. You can now securely enter our €20 for 2020 Club Fundraiser online via our website. It’s great value, as just one €20 ticket gains you multiple entries into different draws including; Membership of the NTAFC Euro Millions Lotto Syndicate for 12 months (104 draws). Entry to the Club Lotto for 2 months (8 weekly draws). Tickets are also available in Kennedy’s Discount Store, Ryan’s Centra, from Committee members, team managers and the usual sellers. The success of this fundraiser is essential for the club as our fundraising efforts have been severely hampered since the impact of Covid 19 in March.

Advertising Opportunities in Derryleigh Park
We are now offering businesses & services the opportunity to advertise on customised signage prominently displayed on the astro-turf fencing in Derryleigh Park. With almost 30 teams in the club and close on 500 players, there is a high number of visitors to Derryleigh Park every week and this is a great opportunity to promote your business and at the same time, support our club. If you require details of the packages available, please contact any committee member, e-mail secretary@newporttownafc.com or call 087 6504779
